Bhutan is one of the least visited countries in Asia, maintaining a fragile independence preserving unique traditions, culture and lifestyle.

In a remote part of the Paro Valley the ruins of Drugyal Dzong mark a fortress from which the Bhutanese repelled many Tibetan invasions. An overnight homestay in a local farmhouse introduces life in rural Bhutan.

The great monastic fortresses (dzongs) of Paro, Punakha and Wangdue are truely magnificent - Wangdue & Paro dzongs dominating the hillsides while Punakha stands on an island between two rivers. During festivals throughout the year the courtyards of the great dzongs come alive with masked dancers and spectators.

Add-on accommodation and sightseeing packages available in Kathmandu pre or post tour.
